If you are thinking of making money by running an online business, then this question is probably at the top of your mind.

A couple of years ago this same question kept running through my head.

I’ve read countless stories of people making money online without ever having the experience of running a web-based business before.

I've heard people talk about how they made a fortune selling e-books, seminars or courses online.

I've heard about how easy it is to make money this way, it's actually so easy - anyone can do it.

The innate skepticism that I had, I couldn’t quite believe by what I read or heard, so I decided to dig deeper to see if it was really a business idea. Can the average person on the street enjoy its capital and really get a chance to make money online?

All in all, I knew I was going to do it, I would take a big risk, invest a lot of time and a fair amount of money in it.

So I started digging and I regularly saw a few names pop up, names like Robert Kiyosaki, Mark Anastasi, Derek Halpern and Andrew Reynolds but there were a few.

These guys are making millions from an established internet business with very little knowledge or investment and for a price, they will teach you how to do it.
Now that these guys are at the top of the food chain and making unimaginable amounts of money like I saw testimonials on their web pages and investigated the person they taught, I found a lot of people who learned from Mr. Big has collected small fortunes for himself.

What’s more, research has proven that literally millions of people in every corner of the globe are making money online, pulling in a little over 1000 1, 000 a month from their own web-based business.

So, I guess the short answer to that question is a great guy!
We now know that money can be made online, but what if you have no idea what you're doing with computers or the Internet? Do these guys all have to be just IT geeks?

Not surprisingly, not at all.

Despite the fact that these people who are making money this way have a good knowledge of computers, the majority had very little experience with that aspect before they started and some have not yet, they only outsource the work to others who do it.

One of the things I learned when I was searching for this is that in order to earn regularly from owning your own online business, you don't really need IT or any qualifications to succeed, just the right time, determination and it works. Interested in learning the basic skills needed to do so.

Needless to say, having all of the above in your hands will enable you to make it a success, in fact, there are thousands of people for every person who makes it that fall by the wayside.

People who start with great optimism and purpose can soon turn to frustration at seeing how much work you have to do first to make small paths.

Why do they give up?

What could be the reason for giving up their dreams?

I have found that there are several reasons why most people give up, but the majority have given up for one of three main reasons.

1. Money

When the uninitiated decide to take the initiative in internet marketing, they think because it will not involve all online or any cost involved.

This is definitely wrong. Even though you’re primarily working online, it’s usually a business from your extra bedroom and no business can be run without the overhead.

Assuming they already have a computer, the cost is still rising.

Domain names, web hosting, advertising, creating your customer lists, products for sale (unless you develop your own) are just a few of the names to reveal.

Of course, some of this can be done for free or cheap but the time it takes before seeing a regular income is the cause of the loss and some people don’t have the patience to wait.

Which brings us to the second reason.

2. Time

The reason we decided to let internet marketing go was that we were preoccupied with stories of making thousands of people within a few months of starting.

Although it can and does happen, it is the exception rather than the rule when I was surprised to find out how long it took me to get some more famous names to make money .

Chris Farrell (online millionaire) is one of the fastest to start seeing returns just six months later.

Derek Halpern (online millionaire) built his business for twelve months before even deciding to sell a product.

It took Steven Isa (online millionaire) eight months before he started seeing any returns.

The world of internet marketing is full of successful people who have spent a lot of time trying before they see a return on their investments.

The gist of the story?

Don’t give up your day job yet, but don’t give up on your dream because it’s taking longer than you expected.

3. Committed

Most of the people who come to internet marketing have this idea that they can be successful by working only a few hours a day.

This may be true in the case of already established internet marketers though it shouldn’t just start for someone, in fact, you should be prepared to set up (long) hours that just need to get everything right.

If you’re already working full-time, that means giving up your evenings and weekends and possibly devoting time to your family and friends as well as hobbies and interests (at least for a while).

After you set up everything you need to try to build your customer list, keep your website (s) up to date, write blogs, market your products, develop new products, etc., etc.

Trust me when I say that there is a lot of time and work that you have to put in before you harvest your labor.

In conclusion.

Comfortable earnings can be made online. But this is not for everyone.

To do this, you need a certain kind of determination and conviction for what you are doing.

Overcoming the challenges you face will require the support and the right mentality of the person closest to you.

When you see what is involved and consider all the problems and frustrations of finding the right help, advice and information and consider the way you have to leave, it is not difficult to understand why so many people give up, understand their dreams and their insanity. Go back to what they were doing before having an idea.

Having said that if you open your eyes wide and are aware of the obstacles you have to overcome on the way and if you realize that it is a marathon rather than a sprint, the chances of successfully making money online will be much better for you.
